Gestes à faire et éviter

  • Garder un animal sauvage chez soi est illégal (art. L. 411-1 du Code de l’environnement)
  • Contacter rapidement un centre de soin pour les conseils à suivre
  • Pour rappel :
    • Ne donner rien à l’animal sans les conseils du centre
    • Ne le forcez pas à boire
      • En cas d’urgence vitale, le priorité n’est pas, comme pour les humains, de se nourrir
      • Cela peut avoir de graves conséquences : Forcer un animal à ingérer un liquide ou un aliment sans la sonde nécessaire, peut endommager ses poumons par exemple.
    • Pas de manipulations (caresses, câlins, bisous)
    • Hors de portée des enfants
    • Sauvage = n’appartient à personne
  • Si le rapatriement n’est pas immédiat suivez les conseils du centre pour l’aménagement, l’alimentation et l’hydratation. On ne s’improvise pas soigneur.
    • Mammifères = installer l’animal dans un carton adapté à sa taille avec une bouillotte enveloppée dans une serviette et posée dans un coin du carton. Tapisser le carton au fond d’une serviettre ou d’un tissu.
    • Reptiles/Amphibiens = installer l’animal dans un terrarium de transport et tapissé au fond d’une serviette ou d’un tissu. Le placer dans une pièce tempérée.
    • Placer le carton ou terrarium dans un espace dédié, au calme (ni bruit, ni passage) et à température ambiante

  • Keeping a wild animal at home is illegal (art. L. 411-1 of the French Environment Code).
  • Contact a care center as soon as possible for advice.
  • Reminder:
    • Do not give the animal anything without the advice of the center.
    • Do not force the animal to drink
      • In the event of a life-threatening emergency, the priority is not, as it is for humans, to eat.
      • This can have serious consequences: forcing an animal to ingest liquid or food without the necessary tube can damage its lungs, for example.
    • No handling (petting, cuddling, kissing)
    • Out of reach of children
    • Wild = belongs to no one
  • If repatriation is not immediate, follow the center’s advice on layout, feeding and hydration. You can’t improvise a caretaker
    • Mammals = place the animal in a box adapted to its size, with a hot water bottle packed in a towel and place it in an corner:. Line the bottom of the box with a towel or cloth.
    • Reptiles/Amphibians = place the animal in a transport terrarium lined with a towel or cloth.
    • Place the box or terrarium in a dedicated area, in a quiet place (no noise, no traffic) and at room temperature.
